TOPIC : YOUR LIGHT AFFECTS YOUR YOUR PRAYER LIFE
Scripture : 2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Previously, we established that your faith depends on your light!
We also said it affects your rising in life. Today, we shall be looking at how your light affects your prayer life.
Does your light affect your prayer life?
The answer is absolutely Yes! People prayed base on how much they know! To know more is to pray more. People behaves best on how much they know. What you know is what you show!
When you have light on the subject of prayers it means you have insight and as such pray more. Every time you catch a new revelation or light from the word of God, you are spur into prayers. Our definition of prayer is a function of our light on the subject of prayer.
The more you know the better you become. Therefore to be a better Christian in your prayer life, contend for light from the scripture.
Example of men with higher light in the realm of Prayer:
1. Apostle Ayo Joseph Babalola: He was practically a man with higher light in the realm of Prayer.
He pioneer a revival of 1930 in Ilesa, Osun State! He was know as a man of the mountain as he founded several mountains. I have visited two of Apostle Joseph Babalola mountain, one in Osun State and another one in Ido-Ile Ekiti.
On that mountain, we were shown, the location where the Apostle knelt down to pray and python came to attack him while praying, the python was simply electrocuted because God’s servant posses higher lights in the realm of power and prayer.
2. Elijah: He was also a man of light on the subject of prayer. He could practically prayed and lock up the heavens over a Nation:
James 5: 17. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
3. Also our Lord Jesus Christ: the Light of the world was also a man of prayer because of insight on the subject of prayer. Jesus was seen always going to the mountains to pray! It was one of such occasion that He went to a high mountain to commune with God that light broke out!
That Light was refer to as transfiguration. Imagine the light of the world, receiving a higher light that was even described as heavier than the sun in intensity ;
Matthew 17: 2. And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
Beloved, the list continue of men and women who took the heavens by storm because of their prayers. We can, therefore, deduce that our prayer life is determined by our light.
The more light we possess, the more prayerful we become. You see, those of us who don’t know what to pray need this light. When the light shines, you will open your mouth to pray.
For example, those of us who have prayed the sinner prayer of Lord Jesus come into my life will agree that you saw something! That is the wretchedness and the helplessness of man in the hand of cruel task master called sin and Satan.
You saw eternity of pains awaits every one that leaves this world without surrendering to Jesus. You saw the love of God for you and this was exactly what motivates you to pray. Some of us even cried with hot tears rolling down our cheeks as we pour out our hearts in prayer.
If you didn’t see anything you can’t pray! We pray because the light of the glorious gospel flood our soul bringing conviction of sin. No wonder the devil fight to ensure that light did not shine.
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
If the light shine on your soul producing salvation, the light must keep on shinning to produce a transformed believers. And this is the light that pushes us to pray. It is my earnest prayer that you will that the light will shine on your soul this season leading you to a place of serious prayer.
Remember this : Heaven is real and hell is real. Jesus loves you that He died for you and me.
Prayer points :
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Father let the light of scriptures flood my soul that spur me into prayer today in Jesus name.
Prophetic Declaration :
– I prophesy your story is changing for good in the name of Jesus.
– May the God of sudden visitation shall visit you suddenly in the name of Jesus.
Assignment: Take up your Bible or listen to the word of God where light will naturally shine into you and your prayer life will not remain the same.
